Several months back now, one of my best friends asked if I’d be interested in doing some photos for her and her husband (another one of my best friends). I, of course, jumped at the opportunity and said that of course I would. We didn’t really set up a time or place for the shoot, so I just figured that we’d be doing it at some point. Fast forward a couple of months to a summer day party at another friends house where we were all hanging out together. Well, this turned out to be a party I’ll never forget because it was at this party that I, along with many of our friends, found out that Sean and Amber were going to be parents.
We all stood around looking at the shirts and each other wondering what was going on. Were they planning another trip to Disney? Did they buy matching shirts? Then it hit us that THEY. WERE. EXPECTING!! I had long hoped to hear this news from them and these are two of my dearest friends and to say that I was overwhelmed with emotion would be a gross understatement. So, later during the party, Amber admitted that indeed the real reason behind the request for the photo shoot was that she wanted to do a maternity shoot. And, of course, this took the answer to OF COURSE I will do this photo shoot with you.
We finally got the details ironed out and settled on this past weekend. Amber chose Salisbury Beach State Reservation for the location and we ended up picking Sunday at 630 to do the shoot. I hadn’t been that anxious or excited for a shoot before, which was a combination of wanting to do an incredible job for them as well as being so thrilled about the opportunity to be part of this journey with them. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed creating them!
