Squantum Association Wedding Venue Wedding

KIM + JASON A Squantum Association Wedding I first met Kim almost 20 years ago when she was just about 12, and her mom and my dad were dating. As we spent a lot of time together, her mom became like a second mom to me, and Kim became a little sister to me and we formed a relationship that I cherish to this day. In that time together, I got a good glimpse at their family and the laughter and joy they shared and their wonderful personalities. It didn't work out with my dad and her mom, and my dad passed away in 2001, so I didn't see much of Kim after that. So, when I got a request from her earlier...

Brent + Marta’s Newburyport Wedding

Newburyport Wedding This past Saturday, I had to privilege of shooting Brent + Marta's beautiful Newburyport wedding at Atkinson Common and reception at VASA Waterfront Kitchen & Bar in Salisbury. Newburyport is a beautiful coastal town in Northeast Massachusetts and a fantastic backdrop for weddings and portraits. I've shot plenty of portrait sessions in and around Newburyport, including at Atkinson Common, but there was something even more special about shooting at wedding here. From the ceremony, the bride and groom and I met up at Cashman Park and walked out onto the boat docks to take...

Ashley + Ryan Wedding Photography

With many thanks to Stephanie, following our documenting of her and George's elopement -- and Shannon --Ashley reached out to me to inquire about covering her wedding. She came to me because she was having trouble getting other wedding photographers to buy in on what she was looking for. Her and her (now) husband weren't looking for full day coverage, but some dialed-back coverage of the ceremony and some portraits. I'm very happy that we expanded the coverage a little because I was able to capture the cake cutting, first dance, father/daughter dance, and some conversations between the couple...

Amber + Sean Beach Maternity Session

Several months back now, one of my best friends asked if I'd be interested in doing some photos for her and her husband (another one of my best friends). I, of course, jumped at the opportunity and said that of course I would. We didn't really set up a time or place for the shoot, so I just figured that we'd be doing it at some point. Fast forward a couple of months to a summer day party at another friends house where we were all hanging out together. Well, this turned out to be a party I'll never forget because it was at this party that I, along with many of our friends, found out that Sean and Amber...

Collin | Senior Session

Collin | Senior Session

This past weekend, we shot a senior session at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport with Collin. Collin is going into his senior year at Pentucket High School and will be studying classic composition next fall once he makes his choice of schools. Collin is a youth leader at our church and works with the middle school youth group. Maudslay made a perfect backdrop for the shoot as Collin is an avid hiker and outdoorsman. We walked all the way to the back of the grounds, discovering some new landmarks that neither of us had seen before, so not only was it a great shooting session but an enjoyable...

Why Professional Real Estate Photography Matters

  • May 2, 2016

Why it matters It may seem like I'm not an objective voice since I'm a real estate photographer, but professional real estate photography matters and not because I say it does. According to the National Association of Realtors 2015 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers: "For 42 percent of recent buyers, the first step that they took in the home buying process was to look online at properties for sale." and even that number seems low to me. So, with nearly half of all potential home buyers starting their search online, how do you make your home jump up and shout "Buy me!"? There are certainly...

Looking back at our first wedding

Looking back at our first wedding

Open for business! The wedding that launched us in 2015 2015 was a great year for us...it was the year that we finally got our start! We worked with some incredible families last year, met some new clients, and had a lot of laughs. Of all the shoots we did last year, the most challenging was by far the wedding we shot in Jackson, NH for Steph & George at the Snowflake Inn. It was challenging because, as you're probably aware, so much goes into the planning and execution of a wedding from the smallest of details to large scale decisions. Shooting a wedding requires multiple styles of photography,...
